Abstract
In recent years, blockchain technology has emerged as a promising solution not only for financial transactions but also for addressing various societal challenges. One such area of exploration is its potential in combating counterfeiting. The paper delves into the intersection of blockchain technology and anti-counterfeit measures, offering an overview of existing solutions and different blockchain implementations. By harnessing blockchain's capacity to eliminate the need for intermediaries, expedite transactions, and enhance transparency, the project investigates its viability in deflating counterfeiting. Through the development and evaluation of three distinct concepts and the expansion of an existing system, the paper illustrates that while technological solutions are crucial, a comprehensive approach to reducing counterfeits must encompass multiple strategies. These strategies include raising awareness, implementing legal measures against counterfeiters, establishing robust alert systems, and integrating tamper-proof packaging. When amalgamated with blockchain technology, these strategies form a formidable arsenal in the battle against counterfeiting, paving the way for an effective and holistic approach to mitigating this pervasive threat.
